This training is perfect for anyone with a love of Yin, looking to unlock new layers of depth in your own practice, as well as current yoga teachers looking to optimally introduce Yin into your repertoire or add a whole new dimension of richness to all the Yoga experiences you deliver.

By understanding functional anatomy, and the philosophy of Yin yoga along with the meridian lines, five elements and basic acupressure points we will learn myofascial tension release techniques. You will unlock a new way of instructing, that respects the abilities and limitations of your students and keeps you teaching in a harmonious way.

This qualification is recognized by YOGA ALLIANCE INTERNATIONAL. You need to attend all the sessions, completing all theory and one practice teaching session to receive a certification of completion. This 50-hour training can be counted as your CPD (continued professional development). However, if you do not have 200 hours yoga teacher certification, you wouldn’t be able to teach the public with just this qualification.

(Practical assessment will be held at Tranquil Yoga Mackay by hosting one of our regular classes)

What you will learn:

  • Yin Theory and Principles.

  • Physical and energetic theory and benefits of yin yoga asanas.

  • Meridians of the body and how to develop themed classes plus the Two Extra Meridians.

  • Acupressure points / Basic Facial Gua Sha.

  • Myofascial tension release.

  • Paul Grilley anatomy architype functional practice.

  • Sequencing, adjusting and use of props for Yin yoga.

  • Additionally: Ayurvedically body type to give you extra knowledge about the human body to enrichen your lesson plans.

MEET YOUR TEACHER

ASHLEY SUN LLEWELLYN

Yin, Hatha and Restorative Instructor

I have practiced yoga since my early twenties while I was a Dance Teacher in my motherland of Taiwan. My passion for Yoga became overwhelming so I decided to become a Yoga Teacher.
To achieve this I moved to Australia to study Hatha Yoga under Shanti Gowen, 2 years, full time on the Gold Coast. I am blessed to have studied under her as she imparted so many values upon me.

After my study I moved to Mackay to be with my now Husband. Since moving up I have taught various styles of Yoga at various studios over the last five years. I have undertaken so much more training during this time which has steered me towards my love of Yin and Restorative Yoga.

As per Tranquil Yoga’s mission statement, I will continue to study and advance my knowledge and skills under my mentors Jo Phee, Sarah Powers, Leslie Kaminoff and Judith Lasater. This is for the benefit of all involved with our studio.

I truly believe in the healing powers of Yoga for the mind and body. This is why I am creating this community to build happy healthy relationships with my students and also to create a better well-being away from the studio too.
